UPDATES

COVID-19

SAFETY PROCEDURES

As of Monday, January 18th, 2021, all six of our City Optical locations remain open for business.  Business hours vary by location so please visit our Locations page for operating hours by location.

City Optical has implemented extra health and safety protocols recommended by Health Canada and the College of Opticians to ensure the health and safety of all our customers and staff at all times.  They are as follows but not limited to:

  • Face masks and gloves must be worn by staff and customers at all times when in the store.  If you do not have gloves or a mask we will provide both to you before entering the premises.

  • The number of customers in the store at one time will be limited and social distancing (6 feet/2 meters) must be observed at all times.

  • All eyeglass frames handled by customers and staff will be disinfected and sanitized before use by the next customer.  Staff will assist customers with selecting frames.

  • Door handles, countertops, telephones, credit card machines, keyboards and all other high-touch areas will be cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis throughout the day.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are living with someone that has symptoms or you have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or someone who has travelled outside of Ontario within the past 14 days, please postpone your visit for another time.  Thank you.

APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED

All 5 locations remain open, but appointments to meet with an optician are now necessary again. (If you have a valid prescription).  Visit any of our 5 stores during business hours and we will assist you with all of your eyewear needs.

If you require a prescription or an eye examination, an appointment to see an optometrist is necessary.  City Optical works with independent optometrists (they are not part of City Optical staff) and we would be happy to schedule an eye examination on your behalf.
